Xinhua, March 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

German car producer BMW Group reported on Friday that 163,965 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles were sold in February, registering a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent and a record figure in terms of February sales.

A total of 316,846 units have been delivered to customers worldwide in the first two months this year, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.7 percent.

According to a statement of BMW Group, almost all markets achieved sales growth.

In Asia, deliveries of BMW and MINI vehicles in January and February increased by 12.1 percent to 113,588 units compared with the same period last year. On the Chinese mainland, deliveries rose by 12.7 percent to 80,215 units.

"As we expected, we are seeing tailwinds in some markets but headwinds in others. However with our innovative new models, we remain optimistic that we will continue to achieve steady sales growth as the year progresses," said Ian Robertson, member of the board of management of BMW AG responsible for sales and marketing.
