Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari said here Thursday that the country's recent missile launch does not violate a United Nations resolution.

BAGHDA -- At least 11 Islamic State (IS) militants, including a group leader, were killed in air strikes on positions of the extremist militant group in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a security source said on Thursday.
At least six IS militants were killed and 14 others wounded in an air strike by U.S.-led coalition warplanes on an IS position in the IS-held town of Heet, some 160 km west of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a provincial security source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-IS)

SEOUL -- South Korea on Thursday denounced the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) for its moves to liquidate South Korean assets and nullify all of inter-Korean economic cooperation projects.
Seoul's unification ministry said in a statement that Pyongyang's move was a provocative act, which can never be tolerated, as it came in response to legitimate sanctions by South Korea and the international community. (S.Korea-DPRK)

FRANKFURT -- The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) decided to cut the main refinancing operations rate for the euro area by 5 basis points to record low of zero percent on Thursday.
The interest rate on the marginal lending facility will be decreased by 5 basis points to 0.25 percent and the interest rate on the deposit facility will be decreased by 10 basis points to minus 0.4 percent, with effect from 16 March 2016. (ECB-Interest rate) Endi
