BiH faces challenges of terrorism, radicalization: Security Minister

Xinhua, March 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

Terrorism, radicalization and violent extremism are main security challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the country's Security Minister Dragan Mektic said here on Tuesday.

BiH had made amendments to the criminal code to deal with the security threats, Mektic said during his meeting with members of Parliamentary Assembly of NATO.

Under the new code, it would be a crime for BiH nationals to participate paramilitary and terrorist organizations on foreign battle fields.

BiH also implemented a strategy to prevent radicalization of its citizens in cooperation with local religious communities, he noted.

BiH will work with its neighbors to establish a regional network to fight against extremism and terrorism, he added. Enditem
