Chadian President Idriss Deby on Tuesday arrived in Khartoum for an official two-day visit to Sudan to hold talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir.

"The visit comes within the framework of the growing ties between Khartoum and N'djamena," Sudan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal-Eddin Ismail told reporters.

He said the two presidents would hold talks on Tuesday, noting that they would discuss economic cooperation, trade exchange and how Chad can utilize Port Sudan harbor.

The talks would further review the situations in Libya and South Sudan as well as the status of the joint forces and their contribution to securing the border areas.

The minister commended Chad's supportive stances to Sudan at the regional and international forums. Endit
