Urgent: UN chief welcomes new Security Council resolution on DPRK

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday welcomed the UN Security Council's unanimous adoption of a resolution that imposes sanctions on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to curb the country's nuclear and missile programs.

"The secretary-general urges the DPRK to abide by the resolution and calls upon all member states to ensure its implementation," said a statement issued here by Ban's spokesman. Enditem
