Senior official stresses CPC leadership at Party school opening

Xinhua, March 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Yunshan has demanded greater consciousness among officials to keep conformity with the Party line set by the CPC Central Committee.

Liu, who is president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, was speaking at the school's spring semester opening ceremony on Tuesday.

Officials should be exemplary role models and champion the correct political stance, be aware of the overall situation, as well as recognize and follow the Party line, Liu said.

The CPC Central Committee, with Xi Jinping as general secretary, have defined the ideology, political thought and actions of the Party, Liu stressed, asking officials to embrace the concepts, ideas and strategies of governance adopted since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012.

Liu urged officials to maintain the correct political direction and remain loyal to the Party, as this would help them to fairly distinguish right from wrong.

Liu also underscored Communist ideals and commitment to the cause, warning that as society changes and diversifies, the more important these will be.

Moreover, officials should learn from the downfall of corrupt officials, including Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, Xu Caihou, Guo Boxiong, and Ling Jihua, and be disciplined followers of the Party's code of conduct.
