Senior Chinese, Singaporean diplomats meet on ties, China-ASEAN relations

China and Singapore will jointly promote bilateral relations, and ties between China and ASEAN, according to Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishman who met in Beijing on Tuesday.

Speaking highly of the China-Singapore relationship, Yang said both countries should strengthen mutual trust, and promote key cooperation projects.

China is ready to work with Singapore to push forward the relations between China and ASEAN, Yang said.

Balakrishman said Singapore attached great importance to relations with China. Singapore will expand bilateral cooperation, strengthen coordination and cooperation on regional and international affairs, and promote the development of the Singapore-China relations and ASEAN-China relations.
