Hoffenheim's Sebastian Rudy has been banned for three games after a foul play on Dortmund's Aubameyang, the disciplinary committee of the German Soccer Association (DFB) announced on Monday.
The Hoffenheim midfielder, who opened the scoring in the 25th minute, toppled down Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during a counter attack in the 58th minute and saw a straight red card.
As a consequence, ten-man Hoffenheim were unable to protect their 1-0 lead as Dortmund bounced back with three goals within the last ten minutes of the game, securing a 3-1 win on home soil.
The disciplinary committee justified Rudy's three-game suspension on the basis of a "rude foul play against an opponent".
Thus, Hoffenheim's Sebastian Rudy will miss the Bundesliga upcoming matches against Augsburg, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg.
Relegation-threatened Hoffenheim sit currently on the 17th place standings and with a five-point gap to safety. Endit
