Belarusian tourist goes missing at Da Lat waterfall in Vietnam

Xinhua, February 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

A tourist from Belarus slipped down a cliff and fell into a lake at the Pongour Fall in Da Lat City in Vietnam's central Lam Dong Province on Sunday.

The tourist is now considered missing, Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA reported on Monday morning.

The tourist had been taken to the site by a group of local men on motorbike after they drank alcohol. The Belarusian went to the site without buying ticket as requested, according to the management board of the tourism site.

Located in Duc Trong district, 50 km south of Da Lat, the 40-meter-high Pongour Fall is considered the wildest and most mighty waterfall in the southern Central Highlands.

The searching work is underway, according to an official newspaper of Lam Dong Province.

Earlier on Friday, three foreign tourists from Britain died while taking part in an adventure tour at Datanla Waterfall in Da Lat. Endit
