Xinhua launches new-version mobile app

Xinhua, February 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

Xinhua News Agency launched a new version of its mobile news app on Monday, featuring real-time reporting through its focus on "On-Scene."

The "On-Scene" news of Xinhua's app signals the beginning of overall digitization of mainstream media services, Xinhua President Cai Mingzhao said at the launch ceremony.

With the use of updated mobile networking technologies, the new "On-Scene" aims to fully report the news on the spot in real time through multiple media, Cai said.

Through major upgrades, the app's 3.0 version uses mobile Internet technologies, including big data, cloud computing, 4G transmission and intelligent recognition, to ensure full coverage of news through text stories, photos, charts, videos and live broadcasts.

The news agency released its first news app in June 2014, which saw an upgrade in June 2015. The app has been downloaded more than 120 million times. Endi
