Rare cat spotted in SW China again

Xinhua, February 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Images of a rare marbled cat have been captured in a remote nature reserve again in southwest China's Yunnan Province, researchers said on Friday.

This is the second time that researchers at Gaoligong National Nature Reserve have photographed the endangered animal.

It was last caught by infrared cameras in 2014, 30 years after it was last seen in Yunnan.

Images captured in December 2015 show a marbled cat staring at a camera.

The marbled cat (Pardofelis marmorata) has been listed as vulnerable by International Union for Conservation of Nature. It lives in southeast Asia, in the Himalayan foothills and on the island of Borneo. Endi
