Spanish Civil Guards on Thursday confirmed the arrest of a 20-year-old in the Spanish north-African enclave of Ceuta for spreading propaganda in favor of DAESH, or the Islamic State (IS).
The youngster, who is described as resident in Ceuta, but born in Tangiers and of Moroccan nationality, carried out his activity on social network sites through "numerous accounts."
Among the material he published were speeches made by DAESH leaders and others which "showed the most cruel scenes, including the execution of prisoners."
The Civil Guard confirmed they had been investigating the 20-year-old as a result of the "radical content he was publishing," adding the detainee had undergone a "rapid and deep process of radicalization."
Thursday's operation comes just 48 hours after security forces detained three further people in Ceuta and one in the Moroccan town of Nador under charges of indoctrinating, radicalizing and recruiting people to join the IS.
A number of 86 people have now been arrested in anti-Jihad operations carried out Spain in the last 14 months since the start of 2015. Endit
