A man, who used a knife to hold a woman hostage at a central London restaurant, has been arrested, local police said Wednesday.

The man was arrested after the two-hour hostage incident near London's Leicester Square, and metropolice said no injuries were reported.

Police were called to a branch of the Bella Italia restaurant chain at 8:50 p.m. local time (2050 GMT) on Wednesday, where a man was said to be holding a woman against her will.

Part of Leicester Square was cordoned off and diners were ordered to stay in nearby restaurants while officers tried to negotiate with the hostage-taker.

Police have said the incident is not terror-related. Endi
