Singapore stocks close 1.95 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 52.11 points, or 1.95 percent, to close at 2,619.96.

A total of 1.3 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.57 billion Singapore dollars (1.1 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 255 to 127, while 546 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 11.42 points, or 0.43 percent, to close at 2,672.07 points on Tuesday. Enditem
