29 nabbed in drug ring bust

Xinhua, February 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Police announced Tuesday they had arrested 29 suspects involved in a drug-dealing ring covering three provincial-level regions in south China.

More than 100 police in Hainan and Guangdong provinces participated in the bust in late January after six months of joint investigations, said a police officer with the Hainan Province Public Security Department.

Around 11 kilograms of drugs, including methamphetamine, heroin and ketamine, were seized.

The ring, led by a man surnamed Luo, allegedly purchased drugs in Guangdong Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and sold them to different dealers in Haikou and Sanya cities and Chengmai County in Hainan Province, the police officer said.

Further investigation is under way. Endi
