Cambodian FM to attend ASEAN retreat in Laos this week

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong will attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat to be held on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 in Vientiane, Laos, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

"The ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat is expected to discuss the way forward to strengthen the ASEAN Community, including among others the implementation of ASEAN Political-Security Community Blueprint 2025 and ASEAN Community Vision 2025," the statement said.

The ministers will also discuss ASEAN's external relations and exchange views on regional and international issues, it said.

On the sidelines of the retreat, Hor Namhong will hold a bilateral talk with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, it added.

Founded in 1967, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Enditem
