Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has won a re-election by garnering 60.75 percent of the total votes, official results showed on Saturday.

Results released by the country's Electoral Commission at the National Tally Center in the central Ugandan district of Wakiso showed that Museveni beat seven other presidential candidates.

Museveni, who has been in power for over 30 years, faced off with two main rivals, Amama Mbabazi, former Prime Minister, and Kizza Besigye of the main opposition party, Forum for the Democratic Change.

Museveni was followed by Besigye, who garnered 35.37 percent of the votes, and Mbabazi, who got 1.43 percent. Endite
