Date set for debate on motion of no confidence in Zuma

The National Assembly on Thursday set March 1 this year for MPs to debate a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.

The National Assembly Programme Committee scheduled the motion at the request of the opposition Democratic Alliance (DA).

Following Zuma's decision to fire Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene last December, the DA requested Parliament Speaker Baleka Mbete to schedule a motion of no confidence in Zuma, at the earliest available opportunity in 2016.

In March last year, a motion of no confidence in Zuma was defeated. Enditem
