The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday condemned the terrorist car bomb attack in Ankara, pledging solidarity with Turkey, the Emirati state news agency WAM reported.
At least 28 people died and 61 others were injured in a car bomb attack which targeted military buses near the armed forces' headquarters, parliament and government buildings in the Turkish capital Wednesday, Turkey's deputy prime minister and government spokesman said.
UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan emphasised the UAE's solidarity with Turkey.
He said the UAE stresses its firm position of "rejecting all forms and manifestations of terrorism regardless of their motivations or justifications, wherever, whenever and by whomever they are committed."
The minister reiterated the need for concerted efforts by the international community to eliminate the plague of terrorism and find drastic solutions to the threat which is antithetical to all human values.
He extended his sincere condolences and sympathies to the victims' families and wished for a speedy recovery for those injured in the attack. Endit
