UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday condemned the explosion reportedly caused by a car bomb in Turkey, killing nearly 30 people.

The Secretary-General hopes the perpetrators of this terrorist attack will be swiftly brought to justice, said a statement issued by Ban's spokesman.

At least 28 people were killed and 61 others wounded in a car bomb attack targeting the Turkish military at rush hour in the heart of the Turkish capital Ankara on Wednesday.

Ban sent his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, said the statement, adding that the United Nations stands in solidarity with the people and the Turkish government at this tragic time. Endi
