Urgent: Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko demands PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk quit

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has asked Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk to resign for the government's failure to fight corruption and solve the economic crisis, Poroshenko's spokesman Svyatoslav Tsegolko said Tuesday.

"In order to restore trust in the government, the president asked the prosecutor general and the prime minister to quit," Tsegolko said on Twitter.

Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has handed in his resignation letter to Poroshenko on Tuesday morning, local media reported. Endit
