French Herve Renard named as Morocco's new coach

Xinhua, February 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

French Herve Renard has been appointed as the new coach of Morocco's football national squad, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced on Tuesday.

Renard takes over from Badou Zaki, who was sacked as coach of the Atlas Lions last week over unconvincing performance of the Moroccan squad.

Renard, who has won the Africa Cup of Nations twice, will also be in charge of the national squad of local players.

Morocco's new coach led Ivory Coast to the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2015, three years after winning it with Zambia.

The Moroccan team is currently leading Group F of qualifying competition of the 2017 African Cup of Nations. Endit
