Slovakia assures BiH support in European integration

Xinhua, February 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Slovakia supports Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in its journey towards the European Union (EU), Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak said Tuesday.

Lajcak met Dragan Covic, Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, who submitted the latter's official application for EU membership to the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union on Monday.

"It's a beginning of a new phase in which BiH has made it obvious that it cares about the European prospect," said Lajcak.

The ambition of the Slovak EU Presidency in the second half of this year is for the Council to formally request that the European Commission should make a statement on the application, added Lajcak. Endit
