Singapore stocks close 2.68 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 67.95 points, or 2.68 percent, to close at 2,607.90.

A total of 901.2 million shares changed hands with turnover of 1.35 billion Singapore dollars (964.3 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 234 to 136, while 553 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 1.67 points, or 0.07 percent, to close at 2,539.95 on Friday. Endit
