Singapore Airshow launches Aero Campus to foster aviation talent

Singapore Airshow, Asia's largest aerospace and defence exhibitions, on Sunday announced the launch of the inaugural Singapore Airshow Aero Campus (SAAC) to better develop local aviation & aerospace talent.
As a new initiative designed to foster deeper interest and provide insights into the industry, from exploring higher education to embarking on rewarding careers in the aviation field, the SAAC will be integrated into the Airshow's traditional Education Day programs, which will take place on Feb. 18-19, 2016.
"Accounting for a quarter of the Asian Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) market, Singapore has become the leading aviation hub in Asia-Pacific today, and a skilled workforce will be essential to its continued development," said Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia Events, organisers of the Singapore Airshow.
"The Singapore Airshow Aero Campus offers a platform for stakeholders, including institutions of higher learning and companies spanning the wide spectrum of potential opportunities in the industry, to come together to inform and inspire the next generation of young Singaporean talent that will power the future growth of our aviation and aerospace sector."
The Singapore Airshow Aero Campus is targeted at secondary and tertiary students, NSFs, fresh graduates and young professionals.
There will be a host of activities where visitors will be able to experience the scale and scope of the aviation and aerospace sector through zones that focuses on learning, education and career prospects. Enditem
