(Sports) West Indies beat India to lift ICC under-19 World Cup

West Indies bowled out three-time champions India for 145 runs in a bid to claim the U-19 World Cup trophy for the first time.
Tight bowling by the West Indies bowlers restricted the Indian players from scoring freely at Shere Bangla National Stadium in capital Dhaka on Sunday.
RD John and AS Joseph took three wickets each while KMA Paul grabbed took two wickets for West Indies.
SK Springer and CK Holder took two more wickets. Indian players were only able to set a modest target of 145 in 45.1 overs.
Riding on 52 runs from KU Carty and 40 runs from KMA Paul, West Indies chased down the modest target losing only 5 wickets.
West Indies scored 146/5 in 49.3 over.
TA Imlach and SO Hetmyer contributed 15 runs and 23 runs respectively in West Indies' efforts to reach the target.
MJ Dagar grabbed three wickets while Avesh Khan and KK Ahmed took 1 wicket each for India.
West Indies captain SO Hetmyer won the toss and invited India to bat.
SN Khan scored highest 51 runs for India.
The world cup featured a total of 40 matches which were played by the youth teams of 16 nations.
Australia last month withdrew from the under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh because of concerns over the safety and security of their squad. Endit
