Thirteen people were killed and one seriously injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a semi trailer in southeast Algeria on Thursday.

An investigation has been opened to find what caused the accident on National Road 6 in the province of Naama, 600 km southwest of Algiers, authorities said. (Algeria-Vehicle Collision)

KANDAHAR -- Five police personnel were killed and six others wounded in a suspected insider attack in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar overnight, sources said on Thursday.

"According to an initial probe, two policemen turned their guns against their comrades during dinner in Aqa Wali checkpoint in Abdul Rauf area of Zharay district on Wednesday night, killing six police personnel and injuring six others," a security source told Xinhua anonymously. SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Thursday decided to shut down a jointly-run factory park with South Korea just a day after Seoul's announcement to stop operations at the industrial zone in the DPRK's border city of Kaesong.

A statement from the DPRK's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said that the DPRK will deport all of South Koreans staying at the Kaesong Industrial Complex by 05:30 p.m. local time (20:30 p.m. GMT). (S. Korea-DPRK-Ties)

CAIRO -- At least 73 people were injured Thursday when a train overturned in Upper Egypt's governorate of Beni Suef.
