Xinhua, February 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Philippine government condemned Sunday the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) launching of a long range rocket.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the action taken by DPRK was in violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

"The Philippines strongly urges it to abandon its nuclear and ballistic missile technology programs in a complete, verifiable, irreversible manner," the department said in a statement.

The DPRK has confirmed that it successfully launched a Kwangmyongsong-4 satellite, an earth observation satellite, on Sunday morning. Endit
