3-year-old kidnapping victim recovered in S. Philippines

A three-year-old boy who was abducted by Abu Sayyaf terror group last year was recovered Sunday afternoon in southern Philippine province of Sulu, military said.

Alan Arrojado, commander of the Joint Task Group Sulu, said Ace Jay Garban was spotted by a concerned citizen at Buanza village in Indanan town without any companion.

The child was brought to military's office in Jolo, Sulu and then to the hospital for medical check up while efforts were made to contact his family.

The bandits seized Garban, along with his nanny, in March 2015 in Poblacion, Pitogo town in Zamboanga del Sur province.

His companion earlier escaped from ASG's captivity during the encounter between the military and the bandits in Indanan, Sulu.

The ASG is an armed group in southern Philippines responsible in high-profile kidnappings of foreigners and Filipinos. Endit
