Macao expresses concern over Taiwan quake, willing to offer help

Xinhua, February 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chui Sai On, chief executive of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Saturday expressed concern over the 6.7-magnitude earthquake that hit southern Taiwan in early morning.

In an official release, Chui expressed concern and condolences for those who have suffered in the strong quake, adding that Macao is willing to offer help within its available resources.

Macao Red Cross announced that it had allocated 50,000 U.S. dollars to Taiwan counterpart for emergency relief aid.

From the information gathered from the travel industry, there was no indication that any Macao resident has been affected so far, said Macao's Tourism Crisis Management Office, noting that a 24-hour tourism-hotline managed by the office would be ready for offering assistance. Endit
