Unmanned aerial vehicle crashes in southern Turkey

An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) belonging to the United States crashed in Adana province in southern Turkey on Wednesday, the state-run Anatolia news agency reported.

The UAV fell into a wasteland, 15 km from Dogankent region of Yuregir town of Adana, according to the report.

U.S. officials rushed to the scene, said the report, adding that Turkish police has taken extensive security measures in the region.

The UAV belonged to the Incirlik Airbase of U.S. in Adana province, said the report.

"I heard the sound of the explosion after the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle crashed in the region," witness Mehmet Bayram was quoted as saying. Endit
