Uganda has entered its athletes into several international tournaments intending to boost their fitness ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Dominic Otuchet, President of the Uganda Athletics Federation told Xinhua on Monday that next month is going to be busy as several athletes will go for the World Half Marathon in Cardiff, World University Cross Country and the Africa Cross Country event in Cameroon.

He said the country's star athlete and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Stephen Kiprotich is set to participate in the 2016 Tokyo Marathon on Feb. 28.
