Spanish police arrest 20 in anti-drugs operation

Xinhua, February 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Police in Barcelona have arrested 20 people in an anti-drugs operation on Monday.

The arrests were made as part of an ongoing operation known as Operation Titan, which began in November 2015.

So far, 85 people have been arrested as part of a wide-ranging operation carried out simultaneously in several cities in Spain's Catalan region. Around 1,300 police officers are involved in the operation.

Of the 85 people arrested, 34 were sent to prison on charges of drug-trafficking, the illegal possession of firearms, money-laundering and belonging to criminal organizations.

The second part of the operation was aimed at dismantling drug-selling operations in an area known as Sant Adria de Besos in the north of Barcelona. Endit
