The Lebanese Army said Saturday that two soldiers were killed when their naval patrol boat capsized off the shore of the northern Akkar district.

According to a military statement, a naval gunboat carrying four soldiers was in the middle of an inspection and observation mission Friday night when a technical emergency occurred, which led to the partial sinking of the vessel, adding that all contact with the crew was lost.
