Namibia bag first win at Cricket World Cup

Namibia's U19 national team recorded their first win at the Cricket World Cup when they beat Scotland in an emphatic manner, beating them by nine wickets, at a match played on Friday, at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

Namibia rectified their first two opening warmup match losses to England and Zimbabwe when they restricted Scotland to 159 runs after 36.3 overs.

The Scottish team won the toss and opted to bat, but Namibia bowlers kept them in check, as Michael van Lingen picked up three of the Scottish wickets and the other Namibia bowlers picking up two wickets-a piece.

Namibia showed no mercy towards Scotland when they entered into the crease, as they easily surpassed Scotland's total and reached 162 runs after 26 overs and in the process only losing one Wicket.

Namibia's SJ Loftie-Eaton ensured that the runs kept ticking on the scoreboard as he blasted home 67 runs (not out), which resulted in him being crowned the Man of the Match.

Namibia will on Sunday take on defending champions South Africa in Cox's Bazar. Endi
