Indian minister gets threat letter from Islamic State

Xinhua, January 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

An Indian minister has received a threat letter purportedly from the terror outfit Islamic State, media reports said Friday.

India's junior Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi's office got the threat letter in the national capital, the reports said.

The minister has apprised the intelligence agencies and the Delhi Police of the letter.

However, there has been no official confirmation of the letter either from the Indian government or the minister.

India's anti-terror agency had recently arrested some 14 Islamic State sympathisers from across the country in a nationwide crackdown ahead of the Republic Day on January 26. Endit
