Rescued Ecuadorian sloth becomes Internet hit

Xinhua, January 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

A stranded Ecuadorian sloth has made an Internet hit since its recent rescue from a highway was captured in photos later posted online.

Pictures of the adorable creature clinging to a highway rail post have gone viral since Ecuadorian transit police, who rescued the little fella, uploaded them to the Facebook page of Ecuador's Transit Commission (CTE).

Ecuadorian daily El Comercio reported Wednesday that international media published news of the rescue and folks around the world took an interest in the animal's welfare.

Ecuador's transit authority loves sloths, according to the CTE's page, which now features the agency's logo next to a heart and the smiling face of one. Endi
