Spanish treasury places 2.548 bln euros on market

Spanish treasury placed on Tuesday treasury bills with a value of 2.548 billion euros (2.762 billion U.S. dollars) on market registering a demand of more than 7.4 billion euros.

A total of 2.197 billion euros worth of nine-month treasury bills carried an average interest rate of -0.085 percent, compared to the -0.010 percent of the previous issue.

The placement also included 351 million euros worth of three-month treasury bills that fetched an average interest rate of -0.268 percent, compared to the -0.184 percent of December.

So far, the Spanish treasury has placed 19.4 billion euros of medium and long term debt on the market, which represented 15.5 percent of the country's financial goals for the year, 125.3 billion euros. (1 euro = 1.08 U.S. dollars) Endit
