British FTSE 100 rises 0.59 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday rose by 0.59 percent, or 34.46 points, to 5,911.46 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 11.80 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Glencore, Fresnillo, Rio Tinto, Randgold Resources increased by 7.73 percent, 5.55 percent, 4.94 percent and 4.87 percent respectively.

EasyJet led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.19 percent, followed by Shire (2.92 percent), Mondi (2.68 percent), Dixons Carphone (2.27 percent) and Provident Financial (2.26 percent). Endit
