Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday concluded a two-day state visit to Iran, the last leg of his three-nation visit to the Middle East to upgrade ties and boost cooperation.
Xi discussed cooperation with leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and unveiled cooperation projects in fields including industrial capacity, infrastructure and energy. (China-Middle East-Iran)

ANKARA -- Eight people, including one soldier, were killed in the clashes between Turkish army and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in southeastern Turkey, according to the Turkish General Staff on Saturday.
Turkish General Staff said in a press release that the soldier, who was heavily wounded in an armed attack in Cizre district in Sirnak province, died at hospital. (Turkey-PKK )

DAVOS, Switzerland -- Economists including Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), called Saturday for cautious optimism about global economy throughout 2016 and beyond.

ISTANBUL -- The United States and Turkey pledged to cooperate more closely to reach a political solution in Syria while cleaning the region from the Islamic State (IS), said visiting U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday.
