Tokyo shares surge over 3 pct on oil prices' upturn

Tokyo shares surged over 3 percent by ending the morning session Friday with its benchmark Nikkei index skyrocketed over 500 points on upturns in oil prices.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average surged 575.58 points, or 3.59 percent, from Thursday to 16,592.84.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 43.94 points, or 3.38 percent, to 1,345.43. Enditem
