Adriano rejects offer from Brazilian fourth-tier club

Xinhua, January 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Former Internazionale striker Adriano has rejected a proposal to join Brazilian fourth-tier club Gama, his agent said on Wednesday.

Luis Claudio Menezes said his client received a call from the Brasilia-based club earlier this month but negotiations were short lived.

"They called me," Menezes told the Uol news portal. "Adriano appreciated it but there wasn't an agreement. He is not going and the matter is closed."

Adriano is attempting a comeback to professional football after an absence of almost two years.

The former Brazil international, who will be 34 next month, has been training alone for the past two months and has reportedly lost more than nine kilos.

Beset by injuries and personal problems, Adriano has played just 10 matches in the past five years.

He is reportedly in talks with two unnamed Italian clubs. Endit
