Slovak Gov't approves new road linking Czech Republic

Xinhua, January 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Slovak Government at its session on Wednesday approved a proposal to build a new high-quality road connection between Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The proposal concerns the R5 expressway in the town of Svrcinovec in Northern Slovakia and the first-class road in the Czech town of Mosty u Jablunkova (Moravia-Silesian region).

"The conclusion of the agreement will allow us to continue to prepare the project and subsequently to build superior infrastructure connecting the two states," stressed Slovak Transport, Construction and Regional Development Ministry spokesperson Martin Kona. It should be designated for international road transport.

The Slovak part of the expressway is 1.98 kilometers long and the construction work is expected to start some time in 2016. Enditem
