-- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects a difficult year for the global economy and has accordingly lowered its global growth forecast for 2016.

-- European Council President Donald Tusk warned on Tuesday that EU countries had only two months to find a common solution for the refugee crisis. He told EU lawmakers that a summit of the bloc in Brussels on March 17 and 18 "will be the last moment to see if our refugee strategy works."
