Britain opens Consulate-General in central China

A new British Consulate-General in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province opened on Tuesday, according to Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei province.

The establishment of Consulate-General was approved by Chinese and British governments in 2014. Construction started in May 2015.

It is Britain's fourth Consulate-General in China following Guangzhou, Chongqing and Shanghai.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the sister city program between Wuhan and Manchester, Britain.

So far, 162 British enterprises have invested in Wuhan. More than 20 education programs between universities in Hubei province and Britain have also been established. Endi
