Former Brazil international midfielder Jean has been unveiled as the latest signing for Brazilian giants Palmeiras.

The eight-time Brazilian Serie A winners secured the 29-year-old on a four-year-deal from Rio de Janeiro rivals Fluminense. No financial details were given.

At his official presentation as a Palmeiras player on Monday, Jean said his goal was to help the Sao Paulo outfit win the Copa Libertadores, South America's premier club tournament.

"Our big goal is the biggest competition, which is the Libertadores and the Club World Cup," he told a press conference.

Jean is the eighth addition to Palmeiras' squad since December.

He has been capped six times for Brazil's national team and was a member of the Selecao squad that won the 2013 Confederations Cup. Endit
