Foreign investors support reform in Croatia: PM-designate

Xinhua, January 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Foreign investors and bankers supported reforms in Croatia, prime minister-designate Tihomir Oreskovic said on Friday.

The majority in the Croatia's parliament, the Patriotic Coalition, led by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), and the Bridge party also supported the plan, Oreskovic said.

"We now have an excellent opportunity for Croatia and should seize it," Oreskovic said.

He said he would first deal with the problem of high fiscal deficits and public debts.

"It is clear to everyone that my focus is on reducing the public debt and kick-starting investments," he said.

Oreskovic's new government will assume office on Jan. 22 after a vote of confidence in parliament. Endit
