Five police officers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) were among seven suspects arrested for robbing a bank van carrying some 600,000 KM (about 334,790 U.S. dollars), officials said on Friday.

Dragan Lukac, the Interior Minister of the Republika Srpska (RS), an entity of BiH, confirmed those five police officers were from a special police unit of the RS.

A large amount of money and weapons were seized during the arrest, local media reported.

The robbery happened in September, 2015, when a van belonging to the Bosnian branch of Italian Unicredit bank were stopped by armed men in the RS.

BiH is consisted of two entities, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) dominated by Bosniaks and Croats, and the RS dominated by Serbs. The two entities have their own police forces. Endit
