Xinhua, January 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

Myanmar sports authorities will tighten security during the 2016 Southeast Asian Archery competition and Myanmar Open Golf Championship to be hosted by the country, sports circles said Friday.

The two competitions of archery with athletes from six countries and golf with 144 golfers from 25 countries are scheduled to take place from Jan. 23 to 28 and Feb. 4 to 7, respectively.

The security will be tightened during the events as terror attacks have become tragically common globally and it is also the transition period in Myanmar, according to Deputy Sports Minister U Thaung Hteik. Endit
