2 injured in explosion at pizza shop in W. Japan

Two men were injured and sent to hospital Thursday afternoon after an explosion at a pizza shop in Kobe, western Japan, local media reported.

The explosion happened at an outlet of Chicago Pizza Co., some 100 meters from the Subway Station Motomachi in central Kobe.

The employees of the shop were draining a gas cylinder when the explosion occurred. Two male employees suffered burns in their faces and arms.

A witness said he saw black smoke coming out from the shop and glass windows shattered when the accident happened. 15 fire engines were sent to put out the fire.

Local police and fire department are investigating the cause of the accident. Endit
